The Death Grip

I have had a slight obsession with animals since I was a little girl. I love watching them, petting them and hugging and squeezing them! My dad and brother always made fun of me and said that I was like the girl, Elvira, on Animaniacs who would "hug and sqeeze her animals forever and ever" but all of the animls HATED it! My dad even has a cat named, Snuggles, who runs whenever I enter the room because she hates being snuggled by me, oh the irony. Tucker is the only one who really puts up with it. Jason noticed this phenomenon in pictures and calls it my "death grip." Maybe he is on to something...

I just want the animals to love me! The husky above is even given me a little death grip of his own. Notice how much I don't even care. The grip will live on forever!!!
Like Jason has any room to talk...

I Do Not Heart Accounting

Let it be known that I hate studying for my accounting final that I have tomorrow. A final on Halloween you say? That's right from 5:30-7:30pm I will be sitting in a classroom not enjoying the holiday! Even worse than that right now is trying to study...I have found so many things to do today to put off studying like:
-Laundry...3 loads!
-Dropped off shoes to the Shoe Hospital to be repaired
-Updated my address book
-Caught up on Google Reader
-Took Tucker for a walk
-Attempted to buy those cute flats from Target, but they didn't have my size for my huge 9's

I really did get studying done today, but it's been like pulling teeth! Please pray for me...I B'd it on my midterm so I need to B it again. I'm not normally a B kinda gal, but in Accounting I will be just thrilled by it!

I want to know what everyone thinks of my new blog design? My wonderfully talented friend, Ashley, hooked me up! Ashley is getting married on November 22 and has an AWESOME wedding blog that you should go check out called Ribbons and Bows.

One more shout out today...my wonderful boyfriend, Jason just started a blog for the resort that he works at. He is the Assistant Director of Sales and Marketing there. The resort, La Torretta Del Lago opens in November. Jason feels very privileged to be included on my blog header...this is a major turning point in any relationship. He is even going to grace with his writing presence and post soon on here. Stay tuned...maybe we will even have a wedding blog one day...

Happy Halloween!
Love,
Chelsea and Tucker

Hello Lover!

Maybe Target has always had great steals, or maybe I'm just so broke that I'm just now noticing that there are shoes for sale outside of boutiques, malls and DSW. Either way, Target has some great shoes right now, but hurry, they FLY off the shelves.

I saw someone (love ya Nina) wearing these boots last week and I fell in love with them! I would have bet money that they were at least $100 and from a department store. They were just what I was looking for, flat, but with a little wedge, gray, and modern...and even better...$34.99! So I ran to the nearest Target and was ready to buy them up. Found the tag on the empty shelves; they were here but are no where to be found!!! Every single size was gone! Oh well, maybe my Target is just so trendy that everyone got em. I'll go to another...NOTHING. No biggie, I will order them online, even with shipping they will be under $50...back ordered! I wouldn't get them until mid-December. No precious boots on my feet until December? So I called my last hope, mom, aka Shelley, aka Super Woman! She went the next morning (gave her an excuse to scope out our beloved Target). She says she saw literally one boot sitting by itself...in my size...the only one left. What are the odds? Fortunately, she found it's mate and the rest is shoe history.

Moral of the story-Quit reading this blog and go to your nearest Target! But come back and tell me what you bought! Here are two more pairs that I love from Sigerson Morrison's new Target line in store's only for a limited time.

Throwing Up Fall

I love fall and winter and Jason loves Halloween so what does that mean...it means my apartment is throwing up fall! I have fall colors everywhere and I love it! It is actually cold in Houston right now and I am enjoying my Pumpkin Spice candle that is burning next to me. It's great! Here are a few of my decorations:
My fall centerpiece that I made...the pine cones are actually from the trip that Jason and I took to Austin last year!
The Halloween Montage...
And finally the Wall-O-Fall

Putting Tucker on the Map!

I entered Tucker in a Halloween Contest for the cutest Halloween Pet Costume. The contest is for the CW Houston network. Each night during the 9:00 p.m. nightly news, they showcase an animal. So far, Tucker has not been on, but at least his submission was accepted! I hope he wins! You can see Tucker and the other submissions HERE.

We will keep you posted on the results...the winner is announced on Halloween night!

Happy Halloween!!!

On another note, Jason and I took Tucker to the vet this weekend for his annual check-up and vaccinations. He was put through the ringer, but was a trooper!

Go Texas!

I just got back from a great weekend! Jason, Tucker and I went to Jason's hometown to watch the Texas/OU game...Texas won! Jason also went hunting 3 times with his friends. He never "caught" anything, as I say, but had lots of fun. Tucker had fun too! He made a new friend...Jason's "sister" Annie-a precious white pup. I hope everyone else has great weekends too. Have a great week!

Amy and me...we were the two lone girls of the weekend

The boys...they grew up together and are still best friends; how cool! They are so tough.

Gavin's Adventure

It's time to tell you about my car, Gavin. He is a very reliable, but a very beat up and old car. I love him, especially since he doesn't require a monthly fee, but this guy just won't retire! I keep thinking that he won't make another 20,000 miles, but he just keeps chugging along! People constantly stop me to let me know that my hood is open. I have to tell them, not it's not. It is, but it just won't shut! Fender Bender...

Last week when I was out of town for work, I was driving Gavin back to the hotel for the night. We were driving down a pitch black road that was 2 lanes and under construction, when BOOM, Gavin drove over a deer. No, we did not hit and kill a deer. I would have cried forever and taken that one to the grave with me. The deer was already dead, but we sure did drive completely over it! Boy did Gavin fly!!!

I immediately checked the rear view mirror to see if either the deer was still with me, or if a part of Gavin was still with the deer. Luckily, both parties were where they should be.

I called Jason to tell him what happened because I was so freaked out and he said to look on the bright side, that I didn't run over a buck with huge antlers! That may have been the demise of Gavin.

New Vera Bradley Patterns

My co-workers got me hooked on Vera Bradley. I had not even heard of the brand until a year ago; thanks you Page and Ashley. I picked a favorite pattern, Cambridge, and then my wonderful co-workers started my collection off for my birthday this year. I absolutely love the pieces that I currently have and use each one daily. I recommend the Vera tote bag, medium cosmetic bow bag, out-to-lunch sack and the flat iron cover.

Each pattern is so cute and it is fun to collect something and check out new pieces. I am really excited to get my new Vera planner in the new Owl pattern...I'm trying to mix things up!
