The Bachelor: Matt and Shayne Update...Barf!

For those of us who love to watch and The Bachelor and Bachelorette series, you can share my pain when Matt Grant (The Bachelor: London Calling) chose Shayne Lamas and actually proposed to her with a gorgeous Tacori ring btw! I thought this Brit was going to be smarter, but evidently he got all caught up in the Hollywood scene. Here's an update for you:

So after getting engaged, Matt decided to leave London (I guess he can just quit his job) and move to LA. Shayne, "the Hollywood actress" posed nude for Girls Gone Wild Magazine...classy! US Weekly is now reporting that Matt has moved out of Shayne's apartment, but are still engaged. Evidently he was just living there while he found an LA home to call his own. So romantic...If you ask me, she was just his ticket into the Hollywood scene, but I am sure she will hold on to im as long as she can for her 15 seconds of fame. Stay tuned to see how fast they officially end things.

Maybe things will turn out differently for DeAnna on the Bachelorette. Session finale is July 7. I am pulling for Seattle Jason.

Sex and the City

Last weekend when J was out of town I decided to treat myself to a movie. I love going to movies by myself for some reason. It makes me feel independent. So I grabbed my junior mints and got comfy. I have been dying to see Sex and the City as I was a big fan of the show and the fashion. I was definitley not disappointed. Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha were out in full force. The fashion was by far my favorite part, especially Carrie's. I also loved seeing Jennifer Hudson (a full figured woman) in the movie and looking fantastic. The movie made me both laugh out loud and cry. It was a little long (2.5 hours) so don't see it if you are tired or in a hurry. I could have stayed in thier longer and watched it all day. I also loved that there was a wedding in the movie. Everyone likes wedding movies!

Back in May, my mom bought this dress for me and it is my favorite dress ever. It's so cute, just looks like me and fits me better than any dress ever has before. This Cosabella dress was marketed as the "Sex and the City" dress and was supposed to be in the movie, worn by Carrie. I didn't see it, but love it just the same. Doesn't it look like something Carrie would wear?

Tucker's Top Five

This week Tucker is revealing his top 5 Italian Restaurants (keep in mind that when Tucker gets out he doesn't go very far, so these are not really the top 5 in Houston, but really the top 5 in his limited area.

This restaurant is just so cute and cozy. My fave is the Penne Corelli followed by any dessert and coffee. There is usually no wait and the food and service is never disappointing. Very affordable.

2. Palazzo's Trattoria http://www.palazzoscafe.com/

Perfect date place. Romantic and quiet. Salads and specials are really tasty and unique. Just a tad on the expensive side (remember I don't make much)!

3. Piatto Ristorante http://www.piattoristorante.com/

Great casual Italian food! Extra friendly staff. Get on their email list because they do monthly wine dinners that sound fun! Very affordable for what you get.

4. Macaroni Grill http://www.macaronigrill.com/

We all know Macaroni Grill! I am never disappointed by their bread and olive oil. Penne Rustica, Margherita Pizza, and Tiramisu are the best.

5. Birraporetti's http://www.birrarestaurant.com/

This is a Houston staple! If you are downtown, you must go to Birraporetti's directly before or after a theatre show to people watch. Best belini's in town.

Pet Outfits

Tucker is sad today because Jason is out of town to attend his brother's high school graduation party! Congrats to Stephen. This is a perfect time to show a picture that Tucker found on the web of dog very excited to attend a graduation! We just love this.

Tucker is not the biggest fan of wearing costumes himself, but his opinion is that if he has to wear them, he can at least appreciate cute ones on his peers. Hey Tucker, remember this past Halloween? He was Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribean (costume from Target). Just a quick shopping trick if you would like to dress your dog up this Halloween. All of the pet costumes are 50% on the day off Halloween. I just can't spend full price on something for Tuck (sorry buddy) because these teeny tiny outfits can get pricey. So if you can wait until the day of Halloween you will save lots. I was even able to find a lot of the hard to find XS and S sizes to fit a chihuahua.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua

Check out the movie trailer for Beverly Hills Chihuahua coming September 2008. The main character, Papi, is voiced by George Lopez and I read that Drew Barrymore is another one. Even if you are not into talking dog movies, you can at least appreciate the trailers. I know Tucker will want to see this!

Tucker's Top Five Queso Spots

Being a chihuahua, Tucker is an expert on Chips and Queso so he complied a list of the top five spots in Houston for this. Enjoy!

This place is Tucker's #1 pick for Chips and Queso. If you are still hungry, we recommend "The Texican Texas Cheesesteak" that also comes with queso! Perfect on a lazy Saturday afternoon, but pack your patience, because the service is not rushed. Great place to watch a game or people watch!




2. Los Cucos Mexican Cafe http://www.loscucos.com/


The top queso at a Mexican restaurant in Tucker's book. An order of queso is served with extra fatty fried chips...hmmm good! We also recommend their quesadillas with chicken. Los Cucos is a great place for a Friday night dinner and also has private rooms that you can reserve for a fun event!

We recommend getting your queso fix at breakfast with thier famous, "Huevos Hofbrau" breakfast tacos covered in their yummy queso and pico!


4. Willie's Ice House http://www.williesrestaurants.com/


This place has a great cheddery queso. Very thick and great with chips or fries. Also served wtih a great salsa too. Be sure and save room for their burgers or salads!


5. Alamo Drafthouse http://www.drafthouse.com/

What is better than catching a flick and munching on chips and queso? This place has changed the movie going experience for many of us. Have dinner and drinks while at the movies...other recommendations for the Alamo are their Sangria and the classic bowl of popcorn served like it woud be at home.

Okay, onto my rants and raves. My rave this week is for Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz. They were married a few weeks ago and were just spotted honeymooning in Hawaii, along with a teeny tiny baby bump. Everyone knows that I love Ashlee! I am so happy that they are having a baby and finally admitted what everyone, including myself, was speculating. I can not wait to see pictures of her pregnant!!! Get on it US Weekly.

My rant goes to Ann Taylor Loft. I am a HUGE fan of this store. Cute clothes, extremely affordable for my income bracket, and it is a great one-stop shop for my busy life. I am never disappointed in what I find there. I went in yesterday, fully expecting to spend some money (you know, to help the economy) and I could not. I tried on a TON of clothes from dresses (normally a sure thing) to skirts, to pants, to capris, to tops. Nothing looked good because the quality seems to have plummeted. Also, my normal size 6 would not even go over my butt. I know what you are thinking...lay off the chips and queso, but that was not it. I really think they have made a change for the worse...poor quality material and cheaply made clothes. Even worse, just about everything was half off, and not just the old stuff in the back. They must be hurting! Ann Taylor and your loft...I'm going to be watching and I will let you know what I find out.

Tucker's New Bed that Jason gave him!!! Only $10.00 at Walgreens.

Tucker and Chelsea signing in. Tucker wants to begin by talking about an animal shelter called Country Paws Animal Rescue that he heard about today on his favorite news station, KPRC Channel 2. The Houston shelter had to close thier doors in May 2008 for financial reasons. Unfortunatley, there are over 100 dogs that do not have homes.
